Went to the cinemas yesterday to see a movie around 2:40pm, initially there was no one at the desk so we queued where the signage was. We were then 'greeted' by one of the rudest ladies I have ever met!!!! I believe her name was Lois, before even speaking she made it known that our buying tickets was an inconvenience for her. She asked what tickets we were after, we are both students and I provided my physical card, whilst my friend used facial recognition and got her entire university id up with name etc. This lady was clearly not aware of such advances in technology that allowed people to verify things with their phones.
Stating this wasn't good enough, you need to bring your card (in a modern world where people do not bring more than their phones and keys everywhere), and that 'oh well looks like you'll have to pay full price' with a huge sarcastic tone. I tried to offer solutions regarding showing a licence with her photo and name to verify this was the same as the login. However, Lois snapped back with 'well we don't need to muck around and waste time doing that' (even though she had just waisted much of our time debating).
She was then very rude and short with choosing our seats.
Overall, HORRIBLE customer service I have never felt so belittled by a staff member, will not be returning to this cinema!!!!
Lovely clean and vibrant cinema. If you want to skip the hassle of a large shopping centre and battle for carparks, etc, then this cinema is a gem.
Clean, neat, and welcoming cinema.
Lovely lady at the ticket counter who also doubled as the candy lady. Cinemas themselves were clean and comfortable.
Very helpful and friendly staff. I had a small issue with my vouchers and the manager on duty was very accommodating and rectified the problem immediately. We enjoyed the movie, popcorn and a quiet pre movie drink.
Went to this cinema for the first time just to try something different and could not even fathom how rude the woman that served me was. I believe her name was Louis, she was extremely unpleasant and caused a scene by belittling me and my friend. By reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common situation - we will not be returning to this cinema anytime soon, was a horrible experience.
Pleased to say I have never had a bad experience here! Staff are friendly, and cinemas are always kept clean. In a convenient location too. Well done!
This is a well maintained Cinema complex. The 3D picture quality and surround sound is to global standard. The seating is very comfortable. All the movie snacks you need can be brought by the entrance. There is a lift and an escalator to get to the cinema. There is a specially designed viewing area for moviegoers in wheelchairs.
I have just bought tickets for Barbie today 2/8/23 around 6:30 pm and the woman whom I purchased the tickets from was extremely rude to me. I was there with my daughter and we were both astounded by her conduct. This woman was unnecessarily aggressive, patronising and unpleasant when we were reserving the seats.
Remember, cinema ticket purchases are a discretionary spend. I will make sure that I never go to this cinema again. Hoyts and Event are much better, and I have never been treated poorly by their staff. I would give a zero review for Wallis Cinema Mitcham if that was an option.
Movie was good. Staff were so unbelievably rude .. only went to a 4pm showing on a Wednesday.. so it was not busy … but gosh the staff were rude.
